Joey Siemens- Week 3; Down go the Volunteers
This past week I went on the college tour to UF and FSU. The University of Florida has been my dream school for my whole entire life. My father attended UF, and I grew up rooting for the Gators. The University of Florida is getting better every day as they were just recently named the number one public school in the nation. Everything about the school is amazing, and there is a reason why the University of Florida is called the Swamp.
Ben Griffin Hill stadium. One of the best stadiums there is, and not because it fits 100,000 people, but because the fans and atmosphere make it one of the best. My dad told when he was there the stadium got so loud it was like it was shaking, and when I heard that I had to see it for myself. I went to games myself, one of them was against Alabama which is known to be dominant and the stadium was louder than ever. It was so cool to experience Gator life.
This weekend the Gators hosted the Tennessee Volunteers in a rivalry match. Now there is a reason that the Volunteers lost the last 9 games at UF, and obviously, besides the Gators being a better team, it was the fans that made every game almost impossible to win. The number of flags I saw the Volunteers commit was crazy. The Gator fans make it too hard for players to communicate, and that is part of the reason why the Gators defeated the Volunteers 29-16 in a much-needed win for the Gators.
What are your thoughts on the University of Florida, and do you think fans have an impact on a game being played?
