Anna Shimonovitc: Week 6 - Halloween; What's the vibe?
We all know that Halloween is the best holiday to ever exist, it's a fact. But when you think of Halloween, what comes to your mind first? Terrifying blood-gushing and gross monsters? Fall decorations and cozy spooky movies? Or somewhere in between? More importantly, are you thinking of trick-or-treating, going to a party, staying in? Is Halloween always scary, or is it also an excuse for kids to dress up and eat candy? It depends, right?
I started thinking about this when I was making plans for Halloween. The weekend before Halloween a few friends and I are having a sleepover, watching a movie, and eating junk food. It's way more cozy than scary, I doubt we'll even watch a scary movie. I'm also going to take a second to talk about how excited I am. We're all bringing a different "board." like a charcuterie board but different types of food. One person brings entrees, someone else brings sides, then desserts, and drinks. I chose drinks, just as an excuse to decorate cups. And it all has to be Halloween-themed, like a pizza shaped like a pumpkin or Rice Krispy treats shaped like brains. Anyways, that's a fun, chill Halloween night. But there are always different options, like haunted houses or watching actual horror movies. But the main one is going to a party. That also sounds very fun. It's just a different type of fun. Getting to pick a costume and plan it just for people to ask what you are. Going out can be just as fun as staying in, and I think doing both is the perfect mix. The best of both worlds: Dealing with people for the sake of having a fun time, and planning perfectly decorated food to finish it before the movie starts.
I'm curious to know if other people are also indecisive on which "type" of Halloween is their favorite. Staying in? Going out? Funny costume? No costume?
