Elai Avidor - Week Six; Girl Dinner

For those of you who don’t know, I have two older sisters who live in Miami. They both go to the University of Miami and share an apartment together. I am very close with my sisters and love to go down to Miami to visit them whenever I can. However, that usually means going with the rest of my family, but tonight will be different. I am driving down to Miami alone to have dinner with them. I have driven down alone to see them before, but today, I am doing it on a school night and very spontaneously. I am very excited because they are cooking for me and making me hamburgers (which I specifically requested). Luckily, they both paid attention to my mom and, as a result, are very good cooks. Besides getting a delicious meal, I love how close they live to me and how easy it is to see them.

Many siblings attend college in faraway states and rarely see their families. As a very family-oriented person, I couldn’t imagine such a situation. My family is a very important part of my life, and I love spending time with them. Being able to see my older sisters so often is a privilege I deeply cherish. I look forward to seeing them whenever the chance comes up, and I love our conversations and bond. However, I find it funny that I didn’t always have this relationship with them.

When we were little kids, we constantly fought and didn’t get along. My little, naive self never thought I would have such a strong bond with my sisters. Of course, with time, I have grown to love and appreciate them just as much as I love and appreciate my parents. We are a very close family, and I am so grateful to have all of them.

Do you want to leave Florida for college? Are you close with your family or siblings? Do you want to be closer or have a stronger bond?
