Josh Matheson - Week 5; Basketball Season is Here

Donna Klein Jewish Academy (Boca Raton, FL) Varsity Basketball

It is finally that time of year, basketball season.  Each year I look forward most to basketball season.  As I have prepared for this season each and everyday for the past 6 months, I cannot wait to get to work and begin the season.  Last season we fell short of our goal of bringing a banner to Donna Klein, but this year is going to be different.  I have worked so hard and I am hoping to improve my performance from last year, as in my opinion was disappointing.  This year I am a junior, which means it is a big year for me and for our team, I only have two years left, and I am going to make sure I try my best to not graduate without getting a banner.  The reason I want a banner so badly is because Donna Klein never gets Boys Varsity Basketball banners, as it is very hard to get to the championship game in a district tournament.  Last season, we had a record of 12-5, which is a very solid record, but at the same time we did not play the best competition.  This year, we are going to have our hardest schedule yet, meaning if we do not work harder than we ever have, then we are not going to be successful.  I am especially excited for this year's season because of the level of competition that I have been asking for each year.  I believe that as a team we play together more in competitive matchups.
