Josh Matheson - Week 7; Is It Too Early To Start Worrying About the Miami Heat?

Can Miami Heat afford regular Jimmy Butler absences?

The first week of the 2023 NBA season has officially been completed.  With high expectations after last season's performance, the Miami Heat's performance so far this year has been disappointing.  At the moment the Heat hold a record of 1-3, which is a rough record to have considering that the Heat were playing in the Finals 5 months ago.  The Heat began the season on a win and have dropped the last 3 games.  Many believe that the Heat did not belong to go as far as they did last season, but in my opinion that is not the case.  The Heat have built a culture and family over the past decade and even though on paper, the Heat are not filled with big names and star player's in the league, they find a way to work harder than everyone else and gut out key wins in big time games.  Some also believe that the reason for the underperformance of the Heat this year, was due to the shaky offseason as the Heat were expected to make a move for star point guard Damian Lillard, but ultimately did not and lost 2 key rotational players in Max Strus and Gabe Vincent.  Although, the rough offseason and start to the season, I still believe in the Heat and the culture that head coach Erik Spolestra has built over the years.  I also think that Tyler Herro will step up this year and be the Heat's leading scorer, while winning the NBA's Most Improved Player award.  The heat will overcome this bump and have a great season, just as every Heat fan around the world is expecting.  Therefore, I think it is way too early to begin worrying about the Miami Heat.
