Rylan Frydman - Week 6 : Basketball SZN

Rylan Frydman - Week Six : Basketball SZN

As of tonight, Basketball season is officially on its way. The first game is between the Los Angelus Lakers and the former NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets. It has been a long awaited time since last tipoff, when the Miami Heat lost to the Nuggets on June 12. There have been many new trades and exciting new players to look forward to watching this year.

Some of the most notable trades this year have been Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, and Bradley Beal. Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks after spending his whole career in Portland. The Miami Heat were runner ups to acquiring him, specifically after Lillard requested to be traded to Miami. However, after many discussions, he was traded to Milwaukee where he looks to win his first championship with former MVP, Giannis Antehekumpo.  Speaking of championships, Chris Paul was traded to the Golden state Warriors to team up with Stephen Curry and Klay Thomson. At the age of 38, Chris Paul, also knows as CP3, looks to win his first championship. As well as Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal was also a top candidate to be traded to the Miami Heat, but yet again, he was traded to the Phenix Suns, playing with KD and Devin Booker. Each of these players look to make a huge impact on their team and hopefully create a legacy there.

Talking about legacies and impacts, they’re many talented prodigies coming into the NBA this year. Starting with the number one pick, Victor Wembanyama, as well as Chet Holmgren and Scoot Henderson. All of these players are entering the league with outstanding talent, however one player stands out specially, Victor Wembanyama. Both metaphorically and literally, Victor stands in at 7 Foot 4 inches. He was selected by the San Antonio Spurs and has been talked about as the most-hyped prospect since Lebron James. Chet Holmgren is also a freak of an athlete being 7 foot 1. He was selected by the Oklahoma Thunder last year but was injured before the season started, therefor becoming a rookie this year.

The NBA is looking to be a very exciting year, with much to look forward to. It will be interesting to see how the rookies will fit in with their NBA debut and how far they will take their team. It will also be exciting to see the new star players fit in with their new team. Who do you think will win the championship this year? Will Victor Wembanyama live up to the hype he has gotten?
