week 5 - Burnout

Every year at a certain point, I always begin to feel a little burnt out. This feeling comes and goes and will be stronger at certain times than others. Lately I've been getting it more and more, and coupled with the intense workload that naturally comes with junior year of high school, it's been anything but pleasant. It's like running a marathon with fatigue setting in. Junior year is a relentless grind of juggling intense coursework, standardized tests, and college prep, and it has left me physically and emotionally drained. I'm  aware that this is not a phenomenon exclusive to me, and although it is difficult, there are still many ways I can manage it.

One Important thing to do when you feel burnout is to take a step back and reconsider your priorities. Although academic progress is very important, that doesn't mean it's okay to disregard your well being in that vain. I always make sure to do these things when I'm burnt out, but sometimes, I just really need a break. Hopefully, the upcoming shabbaton will help me take a step back and relax. In the end, high school is a time of self discovery and growth and it is very important to find a balance that allows for academic success and physical and mental well being. How do you deal with burn out when you experience? what would you recommend to your peers when they experience this?

  1. I am still figuring out how to deal with burnout, it's hard! But, i would recommend to take a day or two to relax, even if your grade does drop a little DON'T STRESS! The more stress you bring on the more it will multiply and remain.
