Week 6- Austin Levitz- My first Shabbaton

Starting at a new school this year, life has been very different. After many of years I finally have the chance to go on a school trip that is worth going on. In my previous school, all of our school trips were to boring places like a museum or to see a movie. But this trip was different, I was able to go to universal studios in Orlando.

Although I had been to Universal Studios in California, I have been told by my friends that this park was so much better, and I wanted to see if that was true. But before any of the fun can happen there were 2 days of just chilling out at the hotel that were a whole experience on its own. Throughout the 2 days we did many of activities like swim, play corn hole and other things that are basic like watching Ohio State beat Penn State in college football this weekend. I was also so happy that for the first time in my life was able to be hypnotized. It was a great experience for me even though I don't really remember it but my friends told me that it was very funny. The amount of new friends I made and learned more and more about the friends I already had was a great experience for me. It lets me know that at this new school I am accepted for who I am and I am so proud of that. The late night talks in the hotel room or just running down the halls can do so much for one human and create such amazing memories. I had never experienced something like this with people i barely knew and i loved it. But the next day would be even better.

Its Sunday morning and time for Universal. As we make our way to the park I think about what and happened the past 2 days and will know that I will never forget those days. Once we get to the park i realize that this was way different than the one in California. In California it is one park but in Orlando there are 2 parks and the park we went to was way better than the one park in California. Rides that i have never been on like The Hulk and The Velocicoster made rollercoasters a way better experience. They had all of the rides that they had in California but they had more rides that were original to the park. This whole weekend was a great experience for me and I know that i will always take the opportunity to go on one of these trips when I have the chance.

  1. Wow, it's so nice to hear what you thought about the Shabbaton, from a pretty different perspective from mine. I'm glad you liked it, and I definitely agree that staying in the hotel is also fun. It can be really fun and bonding to stay in a room with your friends and hangout with them more than just at school, or even outside of school.
