Rylan Frydman - Week One: Finally, Fantasy Football!

Rylan Frydman - Week One: Finally, Fantasy Football!

As football approaches, hundreds of thousands of fans begin to set into gear. Excitement arises as the days come closer and closer until the first kickoff begins. And as many football fans may know, when football arrives, so does fantasy football. For those who don't know, fantasy football is an app which allows users to serve as owners of selected professional football players. Each participant takes turns in a draft, selecting any NFL player at choice, until they have created their team. You watch as the players you picked pass, catch, run, and score touchdowns, all adding points to your team. Matched with someone else in your league, whoever has more points by the end of the week, wins. Me and my friends have just finished our draft. Some may think it is a small part of our lives, a little game to add some more excitement to the games, well they can guess again. Fantasy football will be mine and many others' entire personality for the next 5 months and 6 days. I have been researching and studying for the past month on who I think will be the best and worst to pick for my team. Me and my friends bet money and the winner of the league will win it all. We have just finished picking our players, and I can guarantee that this is my year to win it all. Fantasy football brings friends and fans together, as well as destroys many, many friendships along the way. However, at the end of the day, it is something that many can love, bond, and share together. Finally, fantasy football is back! Who's ready to begin devoting the next couple months to fantasy football?

  1. Thank you for educating me a little more about fantasy football, and I hope this blog doesn't age poorly.

  2. I liked your blog post because after years of just hearing about it, I am now finally participating in a league of my own. Admittedly, I don't have the first idea about fantasy or even regular football. When I was drafting, I just picked the guy that the app wanted me to. Even so, I find myself excited for the season to begin. So to answer your question, I am very ready to devote myself to Fantasy for the coming months.

  3. First of all, my team is much better. Secondly, after playing fantasy football for 4 years now I can say my fantasy team affects my mood much more than anything else in my life and is the thing I put the most work into during the summer and the season.

  4. I used to LOVE fantasy football and, even more, fantasy baseball! I just don't have the time or energy to do that in-depth study of all the players so I can break it down. I used to win the league, though!
